Quinn Wilton is hosting this event and will be there to greet you at the walk!
Hello! My name is Quinn Wilton and I am very honoured to be your 2017 Regina Walk for Muscular Dystrophy Ambassador.
Currently I am completing my Grade 12 year at Kipling High School and will be attending the University of Saskatchewan this fall to pursue a degree in Social Work.
In 2009 my brother Luke and I were diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) which mainly affects our facial muscles, shoulders and upper arm strength.
Despite the daily obstacles I’m challenged by, I lead a very active life. I am on the Student Leadership Council at school, I take part in dance at a competitive level, I work part-time at a daycare and very much enjoy helping out on my family’s grain farm. I am fortunate to not currently require the assistance provided by Muscular Dystrophy Canada but am very grateful to know that they are a resource for myself and my family for any future needs.
My family has taken a very active role in fundraising for this worthy organization and every year we try to find new ideas to spread awareness and raise funds. It is through fundraising efforts that Muscular Dystrophy Canada will be able to continue its support of those affected and make advancements in research and ultimately a cure! I look forward to seeing you at this year’s walk
