Avery Denysiuk is hosting this event (along with his parents, Kari and Adam) and will be there to greet you at the walk!
We would like to introduce you to our everyday superhero, Avery Denysiuk.
Avery will be celebrating his 4th birthday this October. He was diagnosed before his 3rd birthday with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Avery is our definition of BR-AVERY! He inspires us daily and has taught us so much about life through his eyes and pure heart. He brings joy to everyone he meets & for anyone who has had the privilege to be a part of his life so far will know how strong & caring he truly is!
Avery loves to entertain, and has a great imagination. He says that he loves to play with his family/friends, play hide & go seek, sports, paint/color, sing, dance, and play his guitar.
Since Avery’s diagnosis we have experienced a whirlwind of emotions, and one thing we realized is how many people are unaware of the different types of muscular dystrophy or the extent it affects children, adults and their families daily.
We believe one of the best ways to raise awareness and contribute to ground breaking research that could change the future for so many is through the MD WALK. It gives us a voice to talk to people within our community about MD and the severe impact it has on so many. The walk also gives us an opportunity to be in the presence of other every day superheroes, where we can connect and support each other.
Within a diagnosis without a cure or treatment, it is easy to sometimes feel helpless, so the walk is something that continues to gives us hope for the future! We know that every dollar donated makes a huge difference in the fight against MD & for families dealing with every day difficulties.
Avery says his favorite part of the walk last year was seeing the superheroes, and eating hot dogs! LOL
We would love to express our appreciation to everyone that was able to donate &/or walk with us, and our hope is to have you join us again this year!
We walk for the everyday superheroes and for a cure. Together we can make a difference!
